Pure Gum Rubber is a soft, non-marking, Long wearing, natural rubber. Pure Gum Rubber has excellent abrasion and tear resistance, and is excellent on all steel surfaces against abrasion. Pure Gum Rubber also has excellent adhesion to fabric and metal. Pure Gum Rubber is more flexible at low temperature when compared to synthetic rubbers, but pure gum is not naturally inert, so is inferior to other rubbers when dealing with oxygen, ozone, UV light, solvents and oils.

Product Details

Pure Gum Rubber is a soft, non-marking, Long wearing, natural rubber. Pure Gum Rubber has excellent abrasion and tear resistance, and is excellent on all steel surfaces against abrasion. Pure Gum Rubber also has excellent adhesion to fabric and metal. Pure Gum Rubber is more flexible at low temperature when compared to synthetic rubbers, but pure gum is not naturally inert, so is inferior to other rubbers when dealing with oxygen, ozone, UV light, solvents and oils.

Pure Gum Rubber, also commonly known as Natural Gum Rubber, is a natural product derived from the latex of rubber trees from South America and South Asia. Pure gum rubber is considered an eco-friendly and renewable elastomer thanks to its origin as a tree-derived rubber. The process of creating Pure Gum rubber begins with the harvesting of sap from the appropriate trees. This sap is then processed, and formed into the material Pure Gum. This makes Pure Gum Rubber one of the best products for consumers who are environmentally conscious. Due to the natural source of Pure gum rubber, it is very common for the color to vary from batch to batch, ranging in color from light tan to dark brown.

Pure Gum Rubber is frequently recognized for its high elasticity, due to its low 40 durometer rating. The high elasticity of Pure Gum Rubber is hard to beat, and makes it an ideal material for uses such as squeegees, wiper blades and industrial skirting. Despite its high elasticity, Pure gum rubber is valued for its very high tensile strength This allows Pure gum rubber to high a high level tolerance to stretch and stress, before breaking down or wearing out. The non marking features of Pure Gum rubber cause it to not leave residue on surfaces in common contact with the rubber surface, which is why it is also commonly used in eraser applications.

Pure Gum Rubber also brings many chemical benefits as well. The natural properties of the material mean that is has a high tolerance to most organic salts, ammonia, acids, and alkalis. While pure gum rubber does not have the chemical resistance of other synthetic rubbers, those materials are frequently formulated to those specific chemicals. Pure gum rubber is ideal for light to medium grade applications.

Pure Gum Rubber comes in standard 48″ wide rolls, and is sold by the square foot.
