Oil Only Rolls quickly absorb oil for effective cleanup of petroleum-based spills on land or water. If your priority is economy and short-term use for oil spills, Oil Only Rolls are the perfect choice. These Oil Only Rolls are versatile enough to use for any outdoor spill. Oil Only Rolls are great for quick deployment over large areas, and come perforated to easily be separated without the need for scissors or knives.
Oil Only Rolls are made of Meltblown polypropylene. These hydrophobic fibers repel water (and float) while only absorbing oils and other hydrocarbons. The large-diameter MeltBlown polypropylene fibers in Oil Only Rolls are randomly assembled to create a lofty Mat that absorbs high volumes of liquid fast. Oil Only rolls are great for everything from overspray to large containment failures, and are usable both indoors and out. Split rolls come pre-cut into half width rolls, useful for deployment where long thin strips of coverage are needed, such as work stations or by conveyance systems.
Absorbent Rolls are available in 3 types. Oil Only Rolls are white or blue, white allows you to see the saturation level of the pad, while blue is visible in snowy conditions. Grey Rolls are for absorbing most kinds of non-aggressive spills. Yellow Rolls are for Hazardous or unknown liquids, and are designed to withstand corrosive materials without breaking down.
Oil Only Rolls help you comply with OSHA regulations:
- 29 CFR 1910.107(b)(3) – If floors in a spray booth or work area are combustible, they “shall be covered with noncombustible material of such character as to facilitate the safe cleaning and removal of residues.”
- 29 CFR 1910.107(g)(2) – OSHA requires spraying areas to be “kept as free from the accumulation of deposits of combustible residues as practical.”
- 29 CFR 1910.120(j)(1) – Under an OSHA requirement, “DOT-specified salvage drums or containers and suitable quantities of proper absorbents shall be kept available and used in areas where spills, leaks, or ruptures may occur.”
- 29 CFR 1910.1450(e) – OSHA requires containment and cleanup materials for spills in laboratories to reduce occupational exposure to hazardous chemicals.
- 29 CFR 1910.22(a)(2) – Floors in your workplace should be, “maintained in a clean and, so far as possible, a dry condition.”
- 49 CFR 173.3(c)(2) – The area between a container and a salvage drum used for overpacking must have “sufficient cushioning and absorption material to prevent excessive movement of the damaged package and to eliminate the presence of any free liquid at the time the salvage drum is closed.”
- 40 CFR 263.30(a) – In the event of a spill, transporters must, “take appropriate immediate action to protect human health and the environment.”
- 40 CFR 263.31 – Transporters, “must clean up any hazardous waste discharge that occurs during transportation…so that the hazardous waste discharge no longer presents a hazard to human health or the environment.”
