Brass Ball Valves are quarter turn valves which use a hollow metal ball to control transfer medium flow. Brass Ball Valves work by turning the handle parallel to the valve, aligning the hole in the ball to the tube of the valve, allowing liquid or gases to flow.

Ball valves are know for creating tight seals that are highly reliable. Ball valves make a great choice for tight shutoff and control applications. Ball valves however are not good for throttling applications, due to the lack of fine control.
Brass Ball Valves allow for easy operation, repair and versatility. These factors make Brass Ball Valves very popular in industrial applications.
Brass Ball Valves are most commonly used in plumbing, gas processing, chemical transfer, industrial transfer and any other application where brass is chemically compatible.
Special care should be taken with ball valves in low temperature applications. Water trapped within the ball when closed can freeze, causing the valve housing to crack. Specialty valves with low pressure relief escapes are available for cold and cryo applications.
Ball valves should not be confused with Ball-Check Valves, which use a solid free-floating ball to prevent back flow.
